Last month, the Chinese Ministry of Education gave an order: safety checks should be carried out on school buses.

On December 15, Huang Ming, the vice minister of the Ministry of Public Security（公安部副部长）, said that school buses should have the right to go before other traffic on the roads. They can also use the bus lanes（车道）. “We’ll punish drivers on school buses with no licenses and those carrying too many children,” Huang added.
