Nearly a quarter century after a German boy threw a message in a bottle off a ship in the Baltic Sea, he's received an answer.
A 13yearold Russian, Daniil Korotkikh, was walking with his parents on a beach when he saw something lying in the sand.
“I saw that bottle and it looked interesting, ” Korotkikh told The Associated Press on Tuesday.“It looked like a German beer bottle and there was a message inside.”
It said, “My name is Frank, and I'm five years old. My dad and I are travelling on a ship to Denmark. If you find this letter, please write back to me, and I will write back to you.” The letter, dated 1987, included an address in the town of Coesfeld.
The boy in the letter, Frank Uesbeck, is now 29. His parents still live at the letter's address.
The Russian boy and the German man met each other earlier this month through an Internet video link. The Russian boy said he did not believe that the bottle actually spent 24 years in the sea. He believed it had been hidden under the sand where he found it for a long time.
Uesbeck was especially happy that he was able to have a positive effect on a life of a young person far away from Germany. “It's really a wonderful story, ” he said.“And who knows? Perhaps one day we will actually be able to arrange a meeting in person.”

It’s not the people you came across in your daily life who will stand by you in time of a need. It’s your family who will but it’s important to know that. It happens such often that we end up take our parents for granted. We hurt them many cases and they are treated with disrespect for not understanding them. It’s necessary to understand the fact that there is always different in opinions across two generations. But what really matters is the unconditionally love and care that they hold for us, that I believe is truly valuable.

【题目】阅读理解。
Even if trees cannot walk, they are still on the move.
In parts of the Arctic, entire forests are moving northward. Across the Arctic, temperatures are rising faster than anywhere else in the world. As that happens, the tree line that marks where forests stop and the treeless tundra(冻土地带) starts has been shifting northward. Trees growing along the tree line must protect themselves from the cold wind. To do this, plants tend to grow horizontal(水平的) branches low to the ground. The energy it takes for trees to grow this way means they don’t have enough energy to make seeds.
But as Earth’s climate has been warming, trees no longer have to just grow horizontally. Many can instead grow up toward the sky. This takes less energy. And with all the leftover energy. these trees have started producing more seeds. This happens especially in places where the white spruce(白云杉) grows.
White spruce, which is a North American tree, is quite able to produce a lot of seeds, which can move long distances in the wind. When wind-blown seeds end up on the tundra beyond the tree line, they eventually can sprout(发芽) new trees. This explains how a forest can move. Of course, the process would work only if the tundra were warm enough. But in recent years, the whole planet has been warming.
New trees will provide shelters for some snow, keeping the sun’s rays from making the white surface disappear. Instead, the trees absorb the sun’s heat. This warms the surrounding air. The extra warmth encourages even more trees to produce seeds. That further boosts a forest’s ability to expand. In addition, more trees will trap more snow, preventing much of it from being blown away. Snow can trap heat in the soil below, which encourages trees to grow. The recent rise of temperature has helped more trees grow. The recent rise of temperatures has helped more trees grow past the tree line. People worry about impacts on the animals that depend on frozen conditions for food and shelter.
【1】What is the main cause of the trees in the Arctic moving northward?
A. The rising temperature.
B. The shrinking of northern tundra.
C. The fierce and cold wind.
D. The abundant resources in the north.
【2】What does the underlined word“this”in Paragraph 2 mean?
A. To produce more seeds.
B. To move northward.
C. To respond to the climate change.
D. To protect themselves from the cold wind.
【3】What can be inferred from the last paragraph?
A. New trees can trap the snow, which may make the soil colder.
B. The trapped snow prevents new trees from producing more seeds.
C. New trees can make the surrounding air warmer.
D. New trees can bring more food and shelter for local animals.
【4】The passage is most probably taken from _______.

【题目】阅读理解
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
I am a strong believer that if a child is raised with approval (认可) he learns to love himself and will be successful in his own way.
Several weeks ago, I was doing homework with my son in the third grade and he kept standing up from his chair. I kept asking him to sit down, telling him that he would concentrate (集中注意力) better. He sat but seconds later, as if he didn’t even notice he was doing it, he got up again. I was getting angry, but then it hit me: I started noticing his answers were much quicker and right when he stood up. Could he concentrate better while standing up?
This made me start questioning myself and what I had been raised to believe. I grew up to believe that a quiet child was more likely to succeed. This child would have the ability to study hard, get good grades and become someone important in life. Kids that were active and loud would only be losers.
Now people perhaps come to realize that their kids are born with their own sets of DNA, and all they can do is loving and accepting them. As parents, throughout their growing years and beyond that, we need to guide them and help them find their way.
I have stopped asking my son to sit down and concentrate. Clearly, he is concentrating, just in his own way and not mine. We need to accept our kids, and heir ways of doing things. There is nothing sweeter than seeing our children being themselves. It makes us happy and that’s just the way I want my kids to live a happy life.

A. the importance of parents

A. Encouragement is important.
B. Children shouldn’t be punished.

Smart phones had become part of our daily life. No matter who we are, we can see people busy play with their smart phones. Smart phones benefit them. They help us escape the pressures of life and get informations. However, if we spend too much time on them, we won’t have time to contact face to face our friends and family. And our life, study and work will hurt. In my view, we should limit to our using smart phones except for a purpose of learning. Meanwhile it’s absolute necessary for us to take part in more outdoors activities.
