    Several American students visited our school. Upon our arrival, we gave a warm welcome to them, among them a boy named Tim was to stay with my family for the weekend. I recognized Tim compared him with photo he had sent to me. Tim greeted me and expressed that excited he felt. When school was over, we took the subway home. My parents prepared a rich family dinner that night and we had enjoyed ourselves so much, eating and chatting.     6.考察时态。整篇是一般过去时，这句话也应用一般过去时，把had删去。had done sth是过去完成时，指动作发生在过去某个时间点之前，此处不体现。

    7.考察固定搭配。show sb around somewhere意思是带领sb参观某处；along指prep.沿着、顺着或adv.向前，与某人一道。

    8.考察名词单复数。此处spot指景点，而名胜古迹不只有一处场景，所以应用复数spots。

    9.考察固定搭配。have sth done意为让/使/请/别人做某事。宾语sth 后面用过去分词作宾语补足语，说明sth 与过去分词表示的动作之间是被动关系。此句意思是，他让我帮忙拍照，所以应把take改为taken。

    10.考察连词。句意是，我们还没有意识到，说再见的时候就到来了。因此改成before使句意通顺。

If such genes are confirmed, then in theory cloned mammalian embryos(晶胚) might be grown in selected solutions that change the activity of those genes to improve the technique’s success rate. Although some groups have attempted to clone insects before, Lloyd says this is the first time it has been successful. The team used a slight difference on the standard cloning process: they transferred nuclei taken from embryos rather than fully-grown adult cells. They sucked several nuclei (pl)out of developing fly embryos, and injected them into a fertilized(已受精的) fly egg. From over 800 early attempts, they cloned five adult insects, the group reports in the journal Genetics.
