    Our class joined in a meaningful activity during the winter vacation. First, we went to visit the old lady who lived all alone. Some chatted with her but others helped do a thorough cleaning for us. When the work was done, the house looked real neat and tidy. Then we went to the sport center, where all equipment needed polished. We set out to work at once. Everything was dust-free at no time. Having done all this, we saw a pleasant community than before. Tiring as we were, we felt happy as all of our work was paid off.

    I am very luckily to have the opportunity to see so many place, but sometimes I experience culture shock when I see or do something new. Dad and I now are travelled through Denmark, Norway and Sweden. I used to thinking that these countries are the same, but not any more. People in Denmark are a bit of friendlier, while Norwegians and Swedes prefer not to talk to strangers. I’m surprised to learn that many people there speak English in addition their national languages. In Sweden, it seems that anyone has golden hair and blue eyes. I feel a little strange with my black hair and dark eyes. I imagine this is that foreigners feel when they visit China!

    I used to be a person who hates exercising. But after I started playing baseball, I attracted by the sport. Therefore, I cut down on most of my spare time, like shopping. Though it wasn’t the hard process for me, I needed to make more of an effort than others. I enjoy the feeling of work with my teammates as well as the time we spend it together. There is a proverb that goes, “The process is much beautiful than the outcome.”

    I am a beginner in this sport. Sometimes people will look down on me, and it doesn’t matter. It will only make me keep trying. Only with practising over and over again do I believe I can catch up with other fantastic player one day. The challenge encourages myself to go on.
