仔细阅读下列短文, 根据题目, 选出最佳选项. Never try to work when you are very hungry. If you decide to do your homework right after school, you may get something to eat before getting to work. Always do your homework before you get too tired. Don't wait until very late in the evening, or your work will seem much harder than it really is. If you have more than an hour's work, give yourself a break after an hour. On the other hand don't break it up so much that you can't get anything done. You should be able to work at least half at a time without stopping. Don't put it off until the last minute. If you put off doing your homework, you will have it in your mind, and you won't enjoy your free time so much. If you put it off until the end of the week or until right before a test, you will have too much catching up to do. A little bit each night, enough to keep up with what is happening each day in school, will take the fear out of tests and keep you on top of it all. Do your homework at the same time every evening. This will help you make it a habit. It will make it easier to do, and it will make your time more enjoyable, as well.

How to build energy into your mornings Here are a few things I've found helpful to become fully
alert (清醒的) from being asleep. Not only does speeding up this wake-up process save time, it makes
waking up less of a struggle.
Light. Your body's natural clock is tuned to the amount of light. Turn on all the lights in your room
right after waking up. Getting bright lights can help trick your body into thinking it is time to get out of bed.
Exercise. Put something physical right at the start of your morning. In the summer, I did a quick morning
run and found it helpful in shaking off any sleepiness. Considering the outside temperature hovers (持续)

snaps you out of a groggy (摇摇晃晃的) state.
The 10-minute rule. If you want to stick with a consistent wake-up time, practice the ten-minute rule.
This means you commit to staying awake for at least the next ten minutes. Once you get over that initial period,
the temptation to go back to bed is usually gone.
Active work. Start your day with work that actively uses your mind. Creative activities like writing,
drawing, programming or designing work better than passive activities like reading. By focusing your mind
early you can stay focused and brush off any unwanted drowsiness (昏昏欲睡).
Don't skip breakfast. Wake up early enough to get something to eat. Skipping meals throw your metabolism
out of balance, causing you to gain fat and lose energy. Skipping breakfast also means your blood sugar will
be low in the morning and energy levels down.
Commit to a sleep schedule. The obvious solution to combat against sleepiness is to get more rest at night.
Carrying a sleep debt throughout the week with the hopes of paying it off on the weekend is a bad strategy.
Instead, compress your work into the morning hours so you can get the 6-8 hours you need each night.
Turn up the volume. I've found listening to music or audio (音频的) books helpful in keeping myself awake
during the morning. Best of all, if you put on an audio book from your favorite speaker, you can get some
encouragement to start your day.
1. _______ tips are mentioned in this passage.
A. Six
B. Seven
C. Eight
2. Which will NOT happen in the passage if you always have skipping meals?
A. Your blood sugar will be low.
B. Your energy levels will be down.
C. You can be far away from fatness.
3. Which is right if you want to have a good energy?
A. You can carry a sleep debt during the week and have good sleepiness on the weekend.
B.  Listening to music or audio books in an acceptable volume.
C. You'd rather stay in bed and read a book than writing, drawing and programming.
4. Which expression has the same meaning as the underlined phrase "brush off" in the passage?
A. Turn up.
B. Wake up.
C. Shake off.
5. What's the likely meaning of the underlined word "combat" in paragraph 7 in Chinese?

CELL phones help us easily find people anywhere at any time. A cell phone can include many things, such as games, music and Internet access. Today, 4.6 billion people around the world have cell phones, according to CBS News.
However, cell phones may cause cancer(癌症), according to the World Health Organization. In a 2010 study, people who used a cell phone for 10 years or more were more than two times as likely to get cancer, according to CNN.
The following suggestions may help you reduce your risk of cancer:
    1. Use a headset(头带式耳机)or speaker
Headsets give out much less radiation(辐射)than phones. Some wireless(无线的)headsets give out low-level radiation. However, you should take it off your ear when you’re not talking to anyone. Using your phone with a speaker will also make it safer.
    2. Listen more, talk less

Your phone gives out radiation when you talk or text, but not when you’re listening or getting messages. Listening more and talking less can lower the risk of cancer.
    3. Hold the phone away from your body

Hold the phone away from your body when you’re talking, not against your ear. Also, don’t keep it in your pocket.
    4. Choose texting over talking
Phones emit(发出)less radiation to send texts than to carry a person’s voice. Texting also keeps radiation away from your head.
    5. Poor signal? Stay off the phone
Fewer signal bars on your phone mean that the phone needs to give out more radiation to work. Make and take calls when your phone has a strong signal.
