When he was nine years old, the family moved to London.  There were several younger children in the family. Their life was hard.  So Dickens could not go to school. When Charles went to school, he was already twelve years old.  But he didn't finish school Two years later he began to work. The future Writer often went to the library to read books.  He read a lot. Then Dickens wrote a lot of novels and stories all his life. Dickens died over a hundred years ago, but people are still reading his books with great interest.
