17．Dear Mum and Dad，
How are you？It's my lunch hour so I thought I'd write to you before my meeting this afternoon．
Things are extremely busy．It always is before Christmas．We have five nights out this week!Last night we went to Michael's speech night．You would both have been so proud of your grandson．He won two prizes-one for Biology（生物） and one for Mandarin（中文）．I'll send you some photos when I get them back from the photo shop．He certainly deserved（理应） to get something as he has worked so hard this year．He's still not sure what he wants to do when he finishes school next year．But he is certainly sure of one thing-he's not going to follow in either his mother's or is father's footsteps!We really don't mind what he does，as long as he's happy．
He's talking about leaving his job at Easyshop supermarket just after Christmas．He wants to get a different job-he's not sure what，but his classmate Jack has been trying to persuade him to go fruit picking for a few weeks over the summer holidays．Jack tells me that lots of young people go fruit picking in Australia from all over the world．I think it would be really good for Michael to get out of home and be self-managing for a while．I also think it wouldn't hurt him to do some hard physical labour （as you know，our Michael is not very good at any kind of exercises!）．And I know he would really benefit from meeting lots of young people from other cultures and learning a bit about the rest of the world．
