John is my best friend. However, he sometime makes me angry. For example, last Monday while we were taking test on history, he threw me a note, hoping that I could give him the answers of the questions on the papers. Last weekend we went mountain-climbing. Even the heavy rain in the morning could not prevent us go. Setting off very early, we went along an extreme narrow road, all in high spirits. On every side of the road were green fields and some farm house. We could hear the sound of the rain and our footsteps mixing with our laughter. At noon we reached top of the mountain. That surprised us most was the beautiful scenery there. After having a short rest and sharing the food we had brought it, we started going down. It rained even harder. Patience is of great importance in our daily life. Once I waited a bus to come at a stop. 30 minutes past, but no bus came. Both sad and annoyed, I decided to walk on feet. But no sooner had I left when the bus arrived. I thought if I had waited for one more minute, I would have caught it. If I chose to take a next bus, I would have to wait for other 30 minutes. Only then do I realize my problem. Being impatient will possible waste all the effort that we have put it in. Now whenever I am close to lose my patience, I’ll think of this experience.

Xiaolan, who is fourteen, a middle school student in Southern China. She is a one of the best student in her class and she was won an award for young scientists last year. When seating in the classroom she looks just like all her classmates and after class her life is obvious different. She was born without the ability to use her legs and she has no feeling below the waist.
