As was reported, March 10, 2013 saw a quarrel breaking out between an old man over 60 and a girl on a bus in Zhengzhou city. The reason was that the girl failed to give seat to him even after being hinted. What¡¯s worse, the old man beat the girl in the end.
The incident indicates that some people¡¯s morals are, to some extent, declining rapidly currently. On the one hand, the girl might be condemned for her indifference to the old man. It¡¯s great virtue in China for the young to give seat to those who need it badly, such as the senior citizens, the disabled. On the other hand, the old man should take legal responsibility for his rude behavior. After all those underprivileged, even if not helped, are supposed to show forgiveness and gratitude.
In short, it¡¯s everyone¡¯s duty to improve social moral level, which is essential to create a harmonious society.

Here are some comments on Li Hua from his classmates.
Lily said, "Li Hua is the smartest student in our class and usually scores the highest marks in the English and mathematics exams. His homework and assignments are always done to a very high standard so our teachers ask us to follow his example. We all admire his intelligence."
Kate said, "Li Hua is really a hard-working student. He spends at least four hours every day reviewing his lessons and his homework is never late. As the exams get closer he becomes even more diligent and works into the early hours of the morning, making sure he has gone over all of the information covered in our classes."
John said, "Li Hua is the kind of person who is easy to co-operate with. Although he's very clever he is still willing to listen to others' opinions and take their suggestions. When we do groupwork in class we all want to be in his group because he always does his share of the work and is easy to get along with."
Tim said, "Li Hua is the class monitor and the most helpful student in our class. He always makes sure the classroom is kept clean and assists the teacher in handing out and collecting the students' books and homework. When a student is absent from school he will call and tell them what they have missed."

I was brought up in the countryside by my grandmother. She was a very courageous and inspiring woman and was very beautiful, too. In comparison with her or some of my classmates, I always felt that I was not beautiful or pretty. In fact, when I was studying in middle school, I thought I was not as good as other students and just because of these negative feelings, I was not very confident. One day, I went to the shoe shop to buy a pair of new shoes. When I got there, I noticed a foreign lady talking to a salesgirl. But the salesgirl didn¡¯t understand what the foreigner was saying. They both looked worried. I went up to help them. The lady is an Australian. She wanted to buy a pair of travelling shoes. So I told it to the salesgirl. The lady was very glad when she took them. She spoke high praise for my spoken English and said that I was a pretty girl. Both of them expressed their thanks to me.
As a matter of fact, no one had ever praised me like that before. It was so encouraging. Suddenly I felt confident and happy. It is true that those words turned my life around.
